Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies has told Forest Player that centre back Kelvin Wilson will need to be assessed ahead of Saturday’s match at Doncaster Rovers. The 28 year old, who has impressed since returning to his hometown club in August, picked up a back injury early on in Tuesday night’s 2-2 draw with Middlesbrough and had to be replaced by Greg Halford.
And his manager has admitted that doubts surround Wilson’s potential involvement at The Keepmoat Stadium.
Speaking ahead of Friday’s training session, the Reds boss said: “We’re waiting to see if he can get through today’s training but he’ll be touch and go.
“Other than that everyone seems to be OK. We’ve got a nice clean bill of health.”
The manager also confirmed that new signing Nathaniel Chalobah will be in the squad to face Paul Dickov’s men.
Rovers could hand a first start to Manchester United loanee Federico Macheda after he played 32 minutes as a substitute in Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat against Watford at Vicarage Road.
Reece Wabara and Ritchie Wellens will both need to be assessed before the game, while Marc De Val and Jamie McCombe remain long-term absentees for the South Yorkshire club.
