Jack’s Joy

30 September 2013

Nottingham Forest defender Jack Hobbs has hailed his match-winner in Saturday’s East Midlands derby as one of the best moments of his career.

The centre back, on a season-long loan from Hull City, powered his header beyond Lee Grant just before half-time to settle the contest in The Reds’ favour.

And Hobbs told Forest Player that the moment will be one he cherishes forever.

He said: “The buzz, the thrill, the euphoria I got from scoring that goal was unbelievable. I don’t think I’ve scored any more important than that one.

“I’ve never experienced noise like it. It is right up there with the best moments of my career.

“It was important that we got the win and a clean sheet, but to get it against Derby means so much to everyone - the supporters, the gaffer, the players. We’re absolutely thrilled.”
