Henri’s Helping Hand

20 September 2013

New Nottingham Forest signing Nathaniel Chalobah has told Forest Player that his England Under 21 teammate Henri Lansbury helped convince him to sign a loan deal at The City Ground.

The Chelsea midfielder last night committed himself to The Reds until 15 January and revealed that he had sought advice from Lansbury before signing on the dotted line.

Chalobah said: “I spoke to Henri a couple of weeks ago and he only had good things to say about the club. He’s had a great start to the season himself and he advised me to get a move here if possible.

“I’m obviously pleased to have signed and after speaking to Forest for a while I think it was important to get it done.

“I’m really excited and looking forward to the challenges ahead.”

Chalobah is following in the footsteps of John Terry, Ryan Bertrand and Sam Hutchinson in arriving on loan from Stamford Bridge and the 18 year old confirmed that those individuals hold the club in high regard.

He said: “Speaking to other players who have been here like Sam and Ryan was helpful and they gave me plenty of advice about what it is like to play for Nottingham Forest.

“Playing in the Championship is always going to be different but it is good to challenge yourself.

“If I can do better than I did at Watford last season then that can only be good for my career.”
