A Selection Headache

27 September 2013

Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies has told Forest Player that he has no new injury concerns ahead of Saturday’s match against Derby County (kick-off 12.15pm).

Defender Kelvin Wilson is still rated as ‘touch and go’ for the East Midlands derby but the manager was pleased to see his side come through Tuesday’s cup match at Burnley without picking up any further knocks.

Speaking ahead of Friday’s training session, he said: “We were pleased to get through the Burnley game unscathed and there were some really good performances despite the result.

“That now gives me a real selection headache ahead of tomorrow’s game but it is always a good problem to have. The squad is in excellent shape and everyone is raring to go.”

The Rams will be missing the midfield duo of Paul Coutts and Jeff Hendrick through long-term injuries, adding to a list which already includes Adam Legzdins, Shaun Barker, Mark O’Brien and James Bailey.

Hendrick has been ruled out until December after having ankle surgery while Coutts picked up a knee injury in the midweek defeat at Leicester. He now faces five months on the sidelines.
