Nottingham Forest supporters Tom and William Swan were special guests at The Nigel Doughty Academy this morning.William, who is three years old, contracted a form of liver cancer aged just ten months but after receiving a transplant he has been told the cancer is now in remission.
His 17 year old brother Tom won a Nottingham Forest football at a recent Cancer UK charity raffle and the club invited the boys down to the Academy to get the ball signed by the first team squad.
And Tom admitted he was delighted to be able to visit the Forest training ground with his brother after a tough few years for the family.
He said: “All the lads have been great this morning and it was nice of them to take time out to sign the ball and have photographs with us. Andy Reid in particular was really chatty and made us feel really relaxed.”
