Forest's International Quartet

12 October 2013

Four Nottingham Forest players were on duty for their countries this week during the latest round of international matches.

Andy Reid received his first call-up to the Republic of Ireland squad since 2007, a decision which proved popular amongst the Irish public, but he was an unused substitute as his country’s World Cup 2014 Qualifying hopes were ended by a 3-0 defeat in Germany.
Nathaniel Chalobah was part of the England Under 21 squad that won 4-0 in their 2015 European Championship Qualifier against San Marino on Thursday night. The on-loan Chelsea midfielder was not used in the comfortable victory but will hope to feature in the qualifier against Lithuania on Tuesday at Ipswich’s Portman Road.
Gonzalo Jara Reyes played 90 minutes for Chile as they let a three goal lead slip to draw 3-3 in their 2014 World Cup Qualifier against Colombia. The result does mean that a draw in their final qualifying game at home to Ecuador will see them reach the finals in Brazil.
Khaled Al Rashidi was in the Kuwait squad as they drew 1-1 in a friendly against Jordan and the goalkeeper will now be hoping to push himself into the starting line-up for the 2015 Asian Cup Qualifier against Lebanon on Tuesday.
