Nottingham Forest chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi has thanked supporters for their backing so far this season after Reds fans snapped up their full allocation for Saturday’s trip to Yeovil.Forest’s supporters have turned out in their droves and Billy Davies’ men will once again be backed in strong numbers as they head to Somerset on Saturday.
2,087 away fans will be in attendance at Huish Park, taking Forest’s total cumulative following for the league season up to 17,163. That works out at an average of 2,452 supporters per away match, an excellent total considering the average round-trip has been 264 miles.
It’s not just away from home where Forest fans excel. A total of 144,877 have attended matches at The City Ground this season, an average of 24,146 – the third best in the Sky Bet Championship.
Chairman and owner Fawaz Al Hasawi was thrilled with the support.
He told nottinghamforest.co.uk: “Both Billy and I continue to be humbled by the phenomenal commitment of our fans.
“They have faced some very long journeys so far this season, including a Tuesday night trip to Charlton followed days later by an away match at Brighton, but their backing has never waned in numbers or in voice.
“I was delighted, but not surprised, to hear that we have sold our allocation for Yeovil on Saturday. I wish all of our supporters a safe trip and hope they are rewarded with the three points they deserve.”
