Nottingham Forest Under 21 head coach Charlie McParland was full of praise for his side following this afternoon’s 2-0 win over Coventry City.An impressive brace from Kieran Wallace sealed all three points for The Reds and McParland was pleased with the response after last week’s cup defeat at West Bromwich Albion.
He said: “We fully deserved to win this afternoon. I asked the boys to respond to the West Brom defeat and they did that. We were much better in both boxes today.
“I thought we could have had three or four goals before half-time. But once we made it 2-0 we were always in control and looked comfortable.”
Wallace fired The Reds to victory with a superb strike in each half and McParland was impressed with the performances of both the midfielder and goalkeeper Dimitar Evtimov.
He said: “Kieran was excellent in the midfield and took his goals really well. I was generally pleased with the team performance but he was very good.
“I’m pleased with Dimitar’s display. He’s been strong, confident and kept us in front with a couple of great saves. He fully deserved his clean sheet today.”
