Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies was pleased with his side’s display in this afternoon’s 2-0 win over Leicester, but stressed the need for calm despite the victory.First-half goals from Simon Cox and Jamie Mackie were enough to earn The Reds all three points in front of over 3,000 travelling fans.
The Reds boss said: “That’s what you call an away performance. Coxy and Jamie scored two great goals and we had one or two other very good chances. We knew we had to sit back and contain them because there was no need for us to go on and chase a third.
“I thought it was a very disciplined performance and every single player put in great effort.
“We looked comfortable, our shape was good. I can’t stress highly enough however that this is only three points. It doesn’t matter at the moment, whether we’re in the top six or not. We’ll try and get to the January window and then we’ll get involved in that race towards the end of the season.”
