Nottingham Forest defender Jamaal Lascelles has told the club’s matchday magazine about the strong camaraderie within the Reds ranks ahead of Blackpool’s visit on Saturday. The centre back played the full 90 minutes in Forest’s defeat at Yeovil last weekend but says in the latest edition, priced £3 and available for download from 2pm tomorrow, that there are no signs of dented confidence among his teammates.
“We’ve trained really well this week,” he says. “The Yeovil game has been put to one side, we’ve taken the positives from it and we must now move on.
“We’ve got a really strong mentality and a great togetherness, which we will carry into the Blackpool game.”
Lascelles has been a familiar name to Forest fans for many years and after performing admirably at Huish Park on Saturday, the 19 year old reveals he is now targeting a permanent place in Billy Davies’ starting 11.
“Under 21s football is a good standard, but I’m aiming higher than that,” he states.
“I see myself as a first-team player and I’ve felt that way since the start of the season.”
Also featured in the latest edition is versatile Chilean Gonzalo Jara, who says he is more than happy to occupy a midfield role in future matches after impressing in that position at Yeovil.
“When you have such a great squad, as we have at the moment, it is just important to be on the pitch,” he says.
“At the end of the day as long as I’m playing games I’m quite happy.”
Issue 10 also has news of a debut Man of the Match performance from one of Forest’s loanees, while Gary Brazil discusses the recent goings on in the Academy.
The magazine will be available from all the usual outlets around The City Ground. It can also be downloaded from this app from 2pm onwards.
