Nottingham Forest deputy manager Ned Kelly told Forest Player of his pride after The Reds narrowly missed out on an npower Championship playoff spot on the final day of the season.Leicester City claimed sixth place with a 3-2 win at The City Ground – Anthony Knockaert’s late winner enough to send The Foxes into next week’s playoffs.
But Kelly refused to be downbeat after the match.
He said: “There is obviously a little bit of disappointment, but from the club’s point of view there is an awful lot of pride.
“Credit to the players. We created a lot of chances today and I’m sure the supporters are proud of their efforts.
“This is just the first step towards getting Forest back to where they are supposed to be. 15 months ago, I’m sure everyone involved with the football club would have taken going into the last game with a chance of getting something.
“The gaffer will get everybody together, we’ll plan, talk to the owners and try to move forward.”
