Fans have voted Chris Cohen as Nottingham Forest’s 2012-13 Player of the Season. The versatile full back has had a tremendous campaign, recovering from the serious knee injury he sustained against Derby last season to rack up 40 appearances and scoop the second award of his City Ground career.
His versatility has seen him switch from centre midfield to left back and he has taken the captain’s armband on a number of occasions in the absence of Danny Collins.
He has twice found the net this season – his opener at Derby sent the away end into raptures and his goal at Barnsley put the match well out of reach.
Those factors, complemented by his terrific consistency and work rate, made him the front-runner in an incredibly close race, and Cohen was delighted with the accolade.
He said: “I feel very grateful, honoured and lucky to have won this award for the second time.
“Last season was a bit of a non-starter for me due to injury but, thanks to the great medical staff here, I came back at just the right time and I haven’t looked back.
“I’ve really enjoyed playing left back under Billy Davies again and also the responsibility of being captain when Danny has been out of the side.”
