Nottingham Forest midfielder Adlene Guedioura can hardly wait for Saturday’s final-day npower Championship clash with Leicester City (kick-off 12.45pm).Tickets for the match sold out on Monday after supporters clamoured to be a part of what should be a fascinating climax to the season.
And Guedioura admitted to Forest Player that he is eagerly anticipating the match.
He said: “I’m very excited for Saturday’s game. It’s like a cup final, I’m waiting impatiently for it to come around. I’ve never had such a demand for tickets – everybody wants to be at this match.
“If we win and other results go our way we will reach the playoffs, but it is also the last game of the season and everyone wants to join the party.
“There have been a lot of highs and lows and I want us to finish well for the fans, manager and city.”
The athletic Algerian has been one of The Reds’ highest appearance-makers this season and has started every match under Billy Davies.
But there is no danger of his enthusiasm waning with the finishing line looming large.
Guedioura said: “It has been a long season, especially for me because I played in the African Cup of Nations. But it has been a good one for me with many nice memories and I hope to carry that into Saturday.
“Everyone needs to be ready and focussed – the whole squad, not just the starting 11. We all have a part to play – the players, the staff and the crowd.”
