Nottingham Forest Under 21 coach Charlie McParland told Forest Player that he is ‘still learning’ about his players after watching his side lose 2-0 to Huddersfield at The City Ground this afternoon.Goals either side of half-time put the match beyond The Reds but McParland was considered in his appraisal despite defeat.
He said: “Today allowed me another look at the young players and I’m learning about them all the time. Have they got courage, how committed are they to becoming professional, do they think it’s going to come easy for them?
“They’re going to make mistakes because they’re young but if you don’t show courage you won’t learn and coaches will pick up on that.”
Daniel Ayala, Guy Moussi and Simon Gillett all played the 90 minutes and McParland was pleased with their contributions.
“Simon and Guy will always give 100%. Daniel hasn’t played for a long time and he’s feeling his way back into it.
“The whole purpose of them playing was so they could pick up some match practice ahead of the first team run in.”
