Billy Davies has insisted that a third successive win for his Nottingham Forest side would still leave plenty of work to do in the club’s quest for consistency. The Scot has overseen a dramatic upturn in Forest fortunes since his return to The City Ground and this weekend takes his men to Sheffield in search of three more valuable points.
But Davies has told Forest Player that he would not get carried away if they took all the spoils from tomorrow’s televised clash in the steel city.
He said: “It would of course be nice to get another away win and to make it three victories in a row – it is very important for us.
“But at the same time we are sensible and recognise that there are a lot of really tough matches in the Championship. All you can do is prepare the best you can and that is exactly what we’ve done.
“There’s a huge amount of work to do, even beyond this season. The secret at the moment is to win as many matches as we can between now and May.”
Wednesday are in resurgent mood after enduring a difficult start to the campaign and Dave Jones’ men are unbeaten in their last seven league games.
And Davies knows all about the challenges The Owls are likely to pose tomorrow afternoon.
He said: “They’re a tough Championship side, their recent form shows how difficult this one will be.
“They have got a very experienced manager and we will give them all due respect, but we are looking forward to this next challenge. It should be another excellent game.”
