Billy Davies was delighted to see his Nottingham Forest side pick up their fourth consecutive win despite a ‘leggy’ performance against Ipswich at The City Ground tonight.Lewis McGugan won the game with a deflected left-footed effort with six minutes of normal time remaining after Lee Martin and Richard Stearman had both been red-carded for the visitors.
Davies said: “I’m delighted with the three points and another clean sheet, but it was a game to forget from our point of view. We looked very leggy and one-paced.
“You could put that down to the fog – it was very difficult to see – or the short recovery period we have had since the late kick-off on Saturday, but we had no zip about us. I was expecting a very frustrating night and that is exactly what we got.
“But I’m delighted with the win – you have to take the breaks when they come your way because they go for and against you over a long season.”
