Chilean international Gonzalo Jara Reyes has agreed personal terms on a deal which will see him return to Nottingham Forest on a free transfer. The 27 year old right back enjoyed a successful loan spell on Trentside last season – arriving in January and playing a pivotal role in propelling The Reds into playoff contention.
He has now agreed to make the move permanent by committing to a one-year deal at The City Ground following his release from West Bromwich Albion.
Jara - who was part of the Chile squad who bolstered their World Cup qualification hopes with wins over Paraguay and Bolivia earlier in the month - will be reunited with his Forest teammates at the start of pre-season.
Reds manager Billy Davies is delighted that Jara has chosen Forest as his next permanent destination.
He said: “I am very pleased Gonzalo has agreed to join us for next season.
“He made a terrific impact while on loan with us last year and it was hugely disappointing to lose him to injury at such a crucial stage in the campaign.
“He gives us real strength in depth and brings with him an abundance of experience from the top level of the game.”
