Academy operations manager Craig Heiden has highlighted some of the feedback received from Nottingham Forest’s recent successful Academy auditing process.Heiden and the rest of The Reds’ Academy staff worked tirelessly to ensure Forest would maintain Category 2 status and, having today learned of their success, he shared some of the feedback with nottinghamforest.co.uk.
Heiden said: “One of the best things to come out of the process is the recognition of the strong team ethic we have in place amongst our staff. It came out in the review that we have got a really big, multi-discipline approach.
“The quality of coaching was highlighted – that reflects the quality of our staff, both part-time and full-time.
“Our attention to detail was also recognised. Our coaches’ session plans, for example, go into extreme detail on everything they want to convey to the players, whether that be tactical, technical, psychological or social.
“The auditors were also really pleased with the education we offer, which reflects all the hard work put in by Sean England and his staff, and they were also very happy with our recruitment and sports science areas.
“A lot of good things have come out of it - we are in a much better place now than we were at the start of the season, that’s for sure.”
