Reds Make Mackie Move

26 July 2013

Nottingham Forest have announced the signing of Queens Park Rangers forward Jamie Mackie for an undisclosed fee.

The 27 year old, who made 29 Premier League appearances for the West London side last season, has signed a three-year deal at The City Ground.

Mackie started his career as a trainee at Wimbledon but made a name for himself with spells at Exeter City and Plymouth Argyle, where his performances earned him a switch to Loftus Road in August 2010.

Having taken up a wide position under Neil Warnock, Mackie scored 10 goals in 30 appearances during the 2010-11 season as The Hoops won promotion to the Premier League – a run of form which earned him a call-up to Scotland’s Euro 2012 qualifying squad. He notched seven Premier League goals from a similar position the following campaign.

Reds manager Billy Davies told “Jamie is an excellent signing for us.

“His athleticism and work rate are second to none and his ability to play out wide will add real diversity and direction to our attacking play.

“Those factors, added to his considerable domestic and international experience, make him an extremely valuable addition to our squad.”

Mackie’s shirt sponsorship is now available from £645 + VAT. For more information, call the Commercial team on 0115 982 4450, or email
