Nottingham Forest coach Julian Darby was delighted with the impact of winger Jamie Paterson and admits he has a bright future at the club.Paterson scored a superb late equaliser in The Reds’ 2-2 pre-season friendly draw with Royal Antwerp and Darby admitted the youngster is a hot prospect.
Speaking to Forest Player after the game, he said: “It was a fantastic finish and I never thought he was going to miss the goal. He’s an accomplished player but he’s still only a young kid.
“He’s going to grow a lot stronger and I’ve got absolutely no doubts that in the next few years we are going to hear lots and lots about this kid.”
Despite admitting that there is plenty of hard work still to be done, Darby believes that pre-season preparations are going well before the start of the Championship season in a fortnight’s time.
He said: “Preparations are going fine so far and we’re not picking up too many injuries. We’ve still got two weeks to go before the first league game and we’re pleased with where the lads are at.”
