Nottingham Forest winger Jamie Paterson was satisfied with his return to his former club as The Reds secured a 2-1 win over Walsall last night.Paterson played 75 minutes in the victory over The Saddlers and admitted that it was an enjoyable experience after only leaving The Banks’s Stadium last month.
Speaking after the game, he told Forest Player: “It was good to see some old faces and old friends and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Not many people get to come back and play at their former club after a month so that was good.
“I was a little bit nervous at the start of the game but overall I was happy with my performance. I did have a couple of chances which I should have done better with but hopefully I can get my goals back for when the league season gets going.”
The 21 year old also spoke of his delight at how his Forest career has started and revealed that the whole squad is pleased with how their pre-season preparations are progressing.
He said: “It is always good to win games and stay unbeaten for as long as possible. We haven’t lost a game this pre-season and hopefully we can go to Motherwell on Friday night and get another convincing victory.”
