Nottingham Forest’s interim head of Academy Gary Brazil stepped out on to a very different stage on Thursday night when he attended a Forest Foundation event at The City Ground. The passionate coach left no stone unturned as he provided the audience with a fascinating insight into the day-to-day running of The Reds’ Academy before detailing his plans for the rest of pre-season, including the Under 15-16s’ participation in a tournament in San Marino.
Money raised by the Foundation has helped with the improvement of the Academy’s changing facilities and as a way of saying thanks in person, Brazil was joined by his players in supporting the event.
Last season’s Apprentice of the Year Michael Hollingsworth carried out a number of prize presentations on an action packed evening which also included a live performance by Leanne Fotheringham and a quiz.
Brazil was also called upon to draw five Foundation members at random to be in with a chance of winning £5,000.
The lucky finalists were Richie Wheatcroft, Denise Harkai, Valerie Watson, Philip Chambers and Ian Weir, and they will take part in a live draw on the pitch at half-time in the Huddersfield game (Saturday 3 August, kick-off 3pm) to determine who takes home the jackpot.
Forest Foundation members have access to a host of benefits, including regular question and answer sessions with players, ticket priority, discounted Robin’s Reds memberships and the chance to win some fantastic cash prizes.
The cost is just £2.25 per week. Please click here for more information.
