Nottingham Forest have announced the signing of Walsall’s Jamie Paterson for an undisclosed fee.The 21 year old winger, who can play both out wide and through the middle, has signed a two-year deal with the option of a further year.
Paterson, who spent time with Manchester United and Coventry City as a youngster, progressed through the ranks at The Banks’s Stadium and went on to scoop a second successive Young Player of the Season award in 2012-13.
He made over 90 appearances for the West Midlands outfit and was ever-present for them last season, scoring 13 goals in 51 appearances.
Reds manager Billy Davies told nottinghamforest.co.uk: “We are delighted to have Jamie on board. He was very impressive for Walsall last season and has good pedigree.
“He’s quick, agile and has proven himself as a composed figure in front of goal. He adds another dimension to our attack.
“While Jamie is undoubtedly an exciting prospect, he has already gained good first team experience and that should help him make the step up to the Championship.”
Paterson could feature against his old club as early as Tuesday 23 July, when The Reds travel to The Banks’s Stadium for a pre-season friendly.
Paterson’s shirt sponsorship is now available from £645 + VAT. For more information, call the Commercial team on 0115 982 4450, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
