Nottingham Forest and Watford carried out their preparations for tomorrow’s crucial Championship clash at The City Ground (kick-off 3pm) in very different conditions this week. While Alex McLeish’s men battled the elements at their West Bridgford training base, Watford opted to plot The Reds’ downfall on foreign soil by jetting off to the Spanish seaside resort of La Manga.
But McLeish insists that his side haven’t been caught cold by the inclement weather.
He revealed: “Training has been great – the players have had a spring in their step. We had one or two longer and tougher sessions earlier in the week but we’ve tried to keep an intensity to the sessions by making them short and sharp towards the end. The players have responded to that really well.
“Taking your team away at this stage in the season isn’t a bad shout and Watford obviously felt that it would be beneficial to them.
“But it’s up to us to impose our style on the match and make sure they go back down the road knowing that we’ve given them a very tough game.”
Adult tickets for the game against Watford are available from just £18 and are on sale via all the usual outlets – in-person at The Ticket Office, on-line at www.nffcretail.com or by calling 0871 226 1980 (calls are charged at 10p per minute, mobile rates may vary).
