Owls About That?

14 January 2013

Nottingham Forest’s Under 21s and 18s both recorded victories over Sheffield Wednesday this weekend.

John Pemberton handed Stephen McLaughlin his first start in Forest colours as the Under 21s ran-out 3-0 winners in South Yorkshire.

Adam N’Kusu Landu got them off to a flier when he scored the opening goal on two minutes before Wilfried Gnahore doubled the lead just before the break.

Second half substitute Derrick Otim wrapped-up the scoring at the death to confirm a convincing victory.

It wasn’t quite as comfortable for the Under 18s who welcomed The Owls to The Nigel Doughty Academy.

First half goals from Josh Thomas and Lawrence Gorman put the hosts 2-0 up before Wednesday pulled one back from a set piece.

Both sides had chances in the second half but The Reds held firm to continue their fine league form with a 2-1 win.
