Nottingham Forest’s Under 18s played-out an entertaining 3-3 draw at Leicester City on Saturday. The Reds - who drew by the same scoreline at Sheffield United just over a fortnight ago – had led after going 2-0 down thanks to goals from Danny Elliott and David Arrowsmith.
But Forest couldn’t quite hang on and they conceded an equaliser with 15 minutes to play.
Lead professional development coach Steve Chettle was nevertheless delighted with his team’s display.
He said: “It was probably the youngest team we have fielded in the league this season. Five under 16s finished the game and Ilias Polimos made his debut.
“Leicester had eight Under 18s playing which goes some way to showing what a good result it was for us.
“The lads showed great character and we were extremely proud of them.”
