Blades Denied At The Death

12 February 2013

Nottingham Forest’s Under 18s battled to a 3-3 draw at Sheffield United on Saturday.

Danny Elliott levelled for Forest from the spot after his side had shipped a first half goal shortly after losing Ari Kamaneno to injury.

But Forest found themselves 3-1 down with seven minutes to go and needed late strikes from Jake Mulraney and Jordan Palmer-Samuels to snatch a point from the jaws of defeat.

Professional development coach Steve Chettle said: “Sheffield United generally provide a very tough test, especially at home, and that proved to be the case.

“We didn’t start the game brightly and had to rejig the team early on due to Ari’s injury.

“We did better in the second half and got back into the game before going 3-1 down. But they really went for it at the end and got a positive result when it looked like we would come away with nothing.”

Team: Myles, Sebastiao, Kelly (Worthington 81’), Hollingsworth, Gorman, Ackroyd (Arrowsmith 45’), Mulraney, Kamaneno (Otim 8’), Elliott, Palmer-Samuels, Thomas
Subs: Durrant, Adams
