Aiming High

7 February 2013

Fawaz Al Hasawi is convinced Billy Davies is the man to take Nottingham Forest back to the Premier League.

The Forest owner and Chairman announced the return of the 48 year old Scotsman to The City Ground earlier today.

Davies twice took The Reds to the play-offs during his first spell in charge of the Club and Mr Al Hasawi is convinced he is the man to lead the Club back to the top flight of English football.

He told Forest Player: “Billy wanted to take the job and he wants to take us to the Premier League.

“He told me we will go to the Premier League.

“It’s not an easy issue but we will work to make it a reality and I think Billy has the vision to  take us there.

“We are not far from the play-offs to be honest, six points away with 16 games to come.

“You never know who is going to win in the Championship but I’m sure Billy Davies will do the right thing for us.

“I’m sure we will do well but you never know what the future holds.”

Davies will officially start work on Monday when he meets his players and begins preparations for the visit of Bolton to The City Ground on February 16.

News of his return to the Club after 18 months away has been warmly welcomed by Reds’ fans.

And Mr Al Hasawi said: “I’ve been with Forest fans for six or seven months but I love them, I like to be with them.

“I want to make them happy and take Forest to the Premier League and then perhaps people will be satisfied with me.”
