Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies says that his squad are ready to tackle a hectic festive fixture list, starting with tonight’s visit from Queens Park Rangers (kick-off 7.30pm).The Reds boss will be without the services of Chris Cohen, Danny Collins, Kelvin Wilson and Darius Henderson for the clash against Harry Redknapp’s side but has revealed that the rest of the Forest squad are fit and raring to go.
He said: “Chris, Kelvin and Danny will all miss out once again through injury and of course we’re disappointed to have lost Darius to suspension for these three big matches.
“Other than that, everyone else is fully fit and looking forward to the challenges ahead. This time of year really shows how important it is to have a depth to your squad and we’ll need everybody to play their part in the coming days and weeks.”
The Christmas period is a testing time for both staff and players but the Forest manager also wanted to reiterate his gratitude to the Reds fans who continue to support the team in large numbers at a time when finances can be tight.
He said: “We want to express our sincere thanks to the supporters who travelled to Birmingham and who will be back at The City Ground for two games in just four days.
“They can be rest assured that we are working tirelessly on the training ground to pick up six points against QPR and Leeds and hopefully we can deliver the perfect Christmas present of two wins.”
