Gonzalo Jara’s fitness must be assessed ahead of tomorrow’s visit of Ipswich Town, says Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies.Speaking to Forest Player, the Reds boss revealed that the Chilean international has been struggling with a knock and his participation in tomorrow’s match hangs in the balance.
After finding fellow right back Eric Lichaj difficult to displace earlier in the season, Jara’s versatility has since seen him fill in both at full back and in midfield.
But the 28 year old may be missing tomorrow after joining Dexter Blackstock, who is out for the season after sustaining a knee problem while on loan at Leeds, on The Reds’ injury list.
The Forest manager said: “We have picked up another couple of knocks. Both Gonzalo Jara and Greg Halford are touch and go at the moment. We’ll find out more today.
“There are one or two bumps and bruises but it once again opens the door for somebody else. We’ll keep encouraging young players like Ben Osborn, who has picked up some good experience recently, to get involved if we need them to.”
The manager also revealed that Kelvin Wilson remains a long-term absentee, Darius Henderson is “one or two weeks away” and Welsh duo Danny Collins and David Vaughan are likely to be unavailable for another fortnight.
