Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies says he recently held an ‘extremely productive’ meeting with chairman and owner Fawaz Al Hasawi ahead of the January transfer window.Mr Al Hasawi arrived in Nottingham yesterday and held lengthy discussions with the manager at the club’s Nigel Doughty Academy.
Speaking ahead of Saturday’s visit of Ipswich, the Reds boss said: “We had a very good conversation regarding the squad and our preparations for the January window. It was a very productive meeting.
“I don’t think you need to be a rocket scientist to realise what we’re missing at the moment, but it’s easier said than done. I think we realised in the last window, when we made many, many offers for players, that transfer dealings are very complex these days. There are middle men and agents involved.
“But Fawaz and I have a very good understanding of where we are and what we need to do to move forward. We’ll work very hard to add that depth and quality to the squad to get ourselves ready for what will be an exciting second half of the season.”
