Gaffer Pleased With Blues Point

21 December 2013

Billy Davies hailed his Nottingham Forest side’s performance after they earned what he called ‘a very good point’ at Birmingham City this afternoon.

The Reds, who saw Darius Henderson red-carded towards the end, were more than a match for their in-form West Midlands opponents on a cold December afternoon at St Andrew’s.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, The Reds boss was complimentary of his side’s efforts.

He said: “I thought it was a very good point and clean sheet against a side who haven’t lost in six matches. You face a very competitive match here at Birmingham. The first 45 minutes were a dogfight, we always knew it was going to be like that, but I thought we were much better than the home team in the second half.

“I must give great credit to the team for their third clean sheet on the bounce. I thought they worked and competed very well and some of our phases of passing and possession were excellent.

“All in all it was an excellent result.”
