Eric’s Excitement

12 December 2013

Nottingham Forest full back Eric Lichaj has told the club’s official matchday magazine that he is currently enjoying ‘the most exciting time’ of his career.

The American, who is the featured player in this weekend’s edition (£3), has played a big part since his summer arrival from Aston Villa and, after enjoying a recent call-up to the USA squad as the World Cup looms large, he is more than content with life at the moment.
“Right now is the most exciting time of my career,” he says. “With the way our squad is building I think we can finish in the top two. That’s what I want.
“Ever since I was young it has been my dream to play in a World Cup. I would do almost anything to be in that squad, however my immediate priority is to win promotion with Forest.”
The 25 year old also talks about his progression as a youngster in the States, his decision to move his family to Nottingham and how it wasn’t all plain sailing when he arrived at Aston Villa.
Also featured is Darius Henderson, who hopes to have sufficiently recovered from a hamstring injury to be in contention for Saturday’s visit of Ipswich Town.
“I’ve been working hard to speed up my recovery,” reveals Henderson. “If Saturday’s game comes too soon then I’ll be doing everything I can to be fit for Birmingham.
“We’re going to need the whole squad over the busy Christmas schedule.”
Supporters can read both interviews in full when the magazine goes on sale via the usual outlets around The City Ground. It can also be downloaded via this app on matchday from 2pm onwards.
