Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies has hailed The Reds’ away support ahead of his side’s trip to Watford on Sunday (kick-off 1.15pm).Forest head to Hertfordshire in pursuit of a fourth consecutive league victory and clean sheet, and the boss has spoken of the importance of The Reds’ faithful ahead of the clash.
The manager told Forest Player: “Their support is crucial. We’ve always given them great effort and they have always appreciated that – that’s why they’ve got the reputation they have.
“It never changes – our away support is magnificent. They are up there with the best in the country, there’s no doubt about it.
“Again we will go and give them the best we can to try and win the match.”
For those interested in league tables at this early stage of the campaign, Sunday’s televised game is a top-two clash, but Forest’s manager is treating the match as he would any other.
He said: “Watford is just another game for us. People will get excited about it, both teams know it will be a really good game if they turn up and play the way they can.
“It’s just three points – we don’t get too excited at this stage. There’s a long season ahead, we’ve been here before and we know how to handle it.”
