Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies was thrilled with his side’s performance in their 3-0 win over Bolton Wanderers this afternoon.
Goals from Jamie Mackie, Andy Reid and Henri Lansbury sealed a comfortable victory for The Reds, and their manager was pleased they overcame their biggest test of the season so far.He told Forest Player: “It was a big test for us this afternoon against a club that was in the Premier League not so long ago. I’m delighted with the three points but more than that, I’m thrilled with the performance.
“There is a fantastic spirit in the dressing room, we’ve got some real good characters in there. Today was perfect - three great goals and a clean sheet.”
The manager gave a special mention to Mackie, whose second-minute strike gave Forest the lead, and also cleared up the reason behind Darius Henderson’s absence.
The Reds boss said: “Mackie’s effort and attitude are top class. He gets people to love him because of his commitment and I’m pleased that he got the goal he deserved.
“Darius Henderson picked up a thigh strain in midweek and we had to be really careful with him. But I felt Greg Halford came into the side and performed exceptionally well . He was unlucky not to score.”
