Nottingham Forest defender Jack Hobbs has said that it would be ‘an honour’ for him to make his first competitive appearance as a Red in Saturday’s season-opener against Huddersfield Town. The 24 year old joined this summer on an initial season-long loan from Hull City and is hoping to make his Forest debut against The Terriers this weekend (kick-off 3pm).
Speaking ahead of the match, he said: “I’ve played at The City Ground in the past with opposing teams and the atmosphere has always been incredible. It will be an honour to play for a club the size of Nottingham Forest.”
Hobbs won promotion to the top flight with The Tigers last season and believes that a good start to the campaign is imperative if Forest want to taste success this time around.
He said: “We’re looking to make sure that we get off to a good start because that can really breed confidence. Hopefully we can make The City Ground a fortress and, although August will be a tough month, get on form early.”
