Davies Pre-Blackburn

9 August 2013

Billy Davies has told Forest Player that he expects a ‘tough test’ when The Reds face Blackburn Rovers in their first away game of the Sky Bet Championship campaign tomorrow (kick-off 3pm).

Forest will be looking to make it two wins from two in the league at Ewood Park and the manager admits a win would be a great psychological boost for his side.

Speaking ahead of the game, he said: “It will be a tough test but it would be nice to get three points away from home because it is important for confidence.

“We’ve had a good week, the players are feeling very bright and there has been a great atmosphere around here.

“We are now starting to see that positive energy running through the side and hopefully we can continue that at Blackburn.”

Yesterday’s Capital One Cup second round draw saw Forest handed a home tie against fellow Championship outfit Millwall and Davies believes The Lions will give his side a thorough examination.

He said: “It is a very difficult draw for us but you’re always hoping for a home draw in the cup.

“We’ve got to be thankful that we are at The City Ground and it is a great opportunity for us if we can perform on the night.”
