Nottingham Forest’s Under 18s lost 7-2 at The Nigel Doughty Academy on Saturday as Leeds scooped the league title with games to spare.Derrick Otim had pegged the score back to 2-1 but it was only to be a temporary reprieve as The Reds found themselves 4-1 down going into half-time.
Danny Elliott halved the deficit after the break but Leeds demonstrated their credentials in devastating fashion to put the game out of Forest’s sight.
Professional development coach, Steve Chettle, said: “Leeds came to us with a really strong team and the incentive of winning the league on the day.
“We went into the break 4-1 down and set the lads the challenge of trying not to be beaten in the second half.
“But it was one of those days where it seemed everything they hit went in - it was a very flattering scoreline. They deserved to win without a shadow of a doubt but we were unfortunate to lose by such a deficit.”
