Nottingham Forest winger Stephen McLaughlin returned to training yesterday as he stepped up his recovery from an ankle injury. The Irishman picked up the knock in training last month, but his manager told Forest Player that he is now on the road to recovery.
Billy Davies said: “He started training yesterday - we obviously won’t rush him but it would be nice to get him fit over the next week or so.
“There are one or two other bumps and bruises - we’ll rest a couple of players before the Barnsley match. But all in all, most of the guys will be available and looking forward to the game.
“We’ve had to leave some people out recently because of injuries and other situations. There’s medical opinion, private issues, training and tactical reasons - all these things make up your mind on team selection. It isn’t always about football.”
