Nottingham Forest’s Under 18s drew 0-0 with Derby County at The Nigel Doughty Academy on Saturday. It was The Reds’ final game of the season and now only Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield can overtake them into second place.
After a scrappy first-half, Steve Chettle’s men took the ascendancy and went close through Deimantas Petravicius and Josh Thomas.
But neither side could find a goal and the match ended 0-0.
Chettle said: “It was another decent performance – we looked really solid defensively.
“The first-half was a scrappy affair where both teams cancelled each other out. The second-half was more open, for ourselves especially.
“We were pleased with a clean sheet but we really wanted to win the game, finish the season and well and cement our place in second.”
