Nottingham Forest Under 21s coach Charlie McParland praised his side’s performance against an experienced-looking Leicester City this afternoon. The Reds came away with a draw after Adam N’Kusu Landu levelled the scores from the spot in the second-half.
The Foxes’ scorer, Ben Marshall, was joined by Martyn Waghorn, Jamie Vardy and Conrad Logan in adding a well-versed edge to the City team.
But Forest, who handed a 45-minute run out to Irish winger Stephen McLaughlin, did enough after the break to feel slightly aggrieved to have only earned a point.
McParland said: “I thought the lads dug deep against a very experienced team - Leicester had about £4million’s worth of talent out there today.
“We were a little bitty in the first half but we sorted it out at half-time. We were playing into the wind so kept it on the floor more - a great bit of football led to our penalty.
“We played with courage - physically we were weaker than them but we rolled our sleeves up and had a really good go. I don’t think they threatened our goal in the second-half.”
