Interim head of Academy Gary Brazil this morning told Forest Player that he believes his Nottingham Forest side are still in a healthy position to progress to the final of the FA Youth Cup.The Reds go into tomorrow night’s second-leg at Norwich’s Carrow Road a goal down after Reece Hall-Johnson appeared to handle a late winner over the line at The City Ground last Wednesday.
But Brazil refuses to feel hard done by and insists that his side have enough to overturn the 1-0 aggregate deficit to set up a two-legged final against either Chelsea or Liverpool.
He said: “I told the boys on Friday morning that if somebody had said to them in June that they would be going into the second-leg of the FA Youth Cup semi-final a goal down, with 90 minutes to turn it around, they’d have snapped their hand off.
“Admittedly, our position isn’t as healthy as we’d have liked but the pressure is all on Norwich now. There’ll be a few there at Carrow Road and it’s something that these boys should really look forward to and attack in a positive way.
“We need to make sure we get to the final – we want it really badly. We’ve worked hard for it all season and we won’t let go of it lightly.”
