Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies has told Forest Player that his side are in charge of their own destiny at Millwall on Saturday. The trip to the capital will wrap up The Reds’ away calendar for the season – and the Millwall match has been declared ‘must-win’ if Forest are to make the npower Championship playoffs.
But Davies knows that winning at The Den is no mean feat.
He said: “Millwall have got a great fanbase who like a wind-up or two. It’s a very difficult place to go.
“We don’t expect favours from anyone. It will be a tough game. If we’re going to win the match we have to go there with confidence and belief, and that’s what we’ll do.
“Nothing changes on Saturday. We need to go and win the game – that has been our attitude since I came in. Barring a bit of luck going against us recently and some excellent goalkeeping performances, as we saw against Barnsley last week, things might have been different for us.
“But competing at this stage of the season with the possibility of reaching 70 points and a playoff spot is something you’ve got to be pleased with.
“I’m delighted to be in this position and we’ll try and win our last two matches.”
