Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies was proud of his team’s performance in this afternoon’s 0-0 draw at home to Barnsley. The Reds hit the woodwork four times and created numerous other opportunities in a one-sided afternoon at The City Ground.
And, even though Forest couldn’t find a winner to reclaim a place in the playoff zone, Davies was upbeat after the match.
He said: “We’re disappointed that we didn’t get the three points we thoroughly deserved, but I’m very proud of what the players gave us – the chances they created, the pressure, the crosses, the corners and everything else. I can’t fault them.
“If they give us that level of performance and effort in our last two games, there’s no doubt we’ll win them.
“I’m very upbeat. Lady luck went against us – that’s just football. We now look forward to the remaining two matches. Six points are required and that’s very much possible.”
