St. George’s Park Tour

5 September 2012

Chairman Omar Al Hasawi headed up a Nottingham Forest delegation given a guided tour of St. George’s Park, the Football Association’s new National Training Centre.

The state-of-the-art centre, spread over 330 acres in the National Forest near Burton upon Trent, is the training base for the 24 England teams.

It boasts a full-sized indoor third generation football pitch equipped with a viewing gallery for up to 200 people, a 60mx40m multipurpose indoor sports hall, 11 full size outdoor pitches and one elite DESSO training pitch which is an exact replica of Wembley.

Mr Al Hasawi and the Forest delegation, which also included Chief Executive Mark Arthur and Head Physiotherapist Andrew Balderston, were given a behind-the-scenes tour by David Sheepshanks, leader of the National Football Centre Board.

During their visit they also met Sir Trevor Brooking, the FA’s Director of Football Development, and a party from the Chinese Football Association.
