A concert is to be staged in honour of one of Nottingham’s best-loved musicians on Sunday night.Roy De Wired sadly lost his battle with cancer last year, but his legacy continues in the form of the Roy De Wired Scholarship Fund, which aims to help young musicians take their first steps in to the industry.
Last year’s inaugural concert raised almost £10,000 and helped 3,000 children gain access to education through a variety of music programmes.
And organisers hope that this year’s event will be similarly-supported as they strive to continue their fantastic work within the local community.
The concert takes place at Nottingham’s Rock City this Sunday (September 16) with doors from 6.30pm.
Tickets are £10 and can be bought on the door or in advance from the Rock City Box Office.
