Nottingham Forest are delighted to announce their support for the Luey Jacob Sharp Foundation, which was set-up by Billy Sharp after his baby son tragically passed away.Luey Jacob was born with gastroschisis - a defect of the abdominal wall which causes a baby’s bowel to grow outside its body. He was just two days old when he died.
Billy and his parner Jade set-up the charity in their son’s memory to raise awareness of and fund research into gastroschisis.
Reds fans can play their part by purchasing LJS Foundation wristbands from The City Ground Megastore, priced £3.
Billy, who joined us on a season-long loan from Southampton last month, says: “Gastroschisis is an issue that is understandably close to my heart.
“I’ve got an opportunity to do something and maybe make a difference for someone else’s child in the future.”
