Nottingham Forest boss Sean O’Driscoll was delighted with his side’s decision making in their 2-1 win over Charlton.Goals from Lewis McGugan and Sam Hutchinson maintained The Reds’ unbeaten start to the Championship campaign and secured their second successive home league win.
Charlton pulled a goal back late-on but Forest richly deserved their victory after producing another highly encouraging display.
O’Driscoll said: “We thought we played really well against Wigan in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday when we got beat 4-1 and we wanted to maintain the positives that we took from that game.
“I thought the players were really focussed and concentrated and started really well and as the first half went on we got better.
“I was pleased with the organisation, which we’ve banged on about time and time again because what you do off the ball is as important as what you do on it.
“All we do is try and teach people to give people options on the ball, then they’ve got to pick the right option.
“The hard thing is the decision-making, what options are on, and that’s something they will never get perfectly right.
“But I thought we made really good decisions today. We made really good decisions against Wigan but that got lost in the result.
“This won’t obviously because we’ve won the game but some of the things people didn’t see against Wigan that were there they will see today.
“Results are in the lap of the gods sometimes but I would settle for that level of performance day in and day out.”
