Elliott Ward is looking forward to a return to the first team spotlight after a spell in the shadows at Norwich. The 27 year old central defender today joined Forest on emergency loan and goes straight into the squad for tomorrow’s game against Barnsley at Oakwell (kick-off 3pm).
Ward has been restricted to just one first team appearance for Norwich this season, in a Carling Cup tie against Doncaster.
And he told us: “I haven’t played as often as I would have liked but that’s football - it will be nice to play in some proper games again.
“I feel fit and ready to go and I’m really looking forward to my time at Forest. They’ve got a great squad and I’m pleased to be part of it.”
Ward has worked under Sean O’Driscoll before, having had a loan spell with Doncaster in 2010.
And he added: “Sean is a very calm manager and I enjoyed working for him. The fact he’s manager here was a big factor in my decision to join Forest.
“Any player wants to feel wanted ... and Forest have certainly made me feel that way. I can’t wait to get started with them.”
