Nottingham Forest stars Danny Collins and Andy Reid are lending their support to blood cancer charity the Anthony Nolan trust.Hundreds of people from across Nottingham signed up to the Anthony Nolan bone marrow register at a special session held at The City Ground.
The Reds are working with the charity to support nine-year-old Archie Andrews, who has been diagnosed with leukaemia and needs a bone marrow transplant to save his life.
Fortunately, his younger brother Harvey has been confirmed as a matching donor and his transplant will go ahead in the next few weeks.
Anne-Marie Spence who works for the charity was delighted with the turn-out at The City Ground. “The event at Forest went really well and we hope to get hundreds of new volunteers on the register as a result of this publicity,” he said.
“Thank you to Nottingham Forest for helping to make it so successful.”
